Understanding IELTS
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) assesses your English proficiency across four skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
1. Listening Tips
- **Practice Multitasking:** You have to listen, read, and write answers simultaneously.
- **Focus on Keywords:** Listen for names, dates, and places.
- **Watch English Media:** Documentaries and news reports are great for understanding different accents.
2. Reading Tips
- **Skim & Scan:** Don't read every word. Skim for the main idea and scan for specifics.
- **Time Management:** You have 60 minutes for 3 sections. Spend 20 minutes max on each.
3. Writing Tips
- **Structure is Key:** Use standard essay structures (Intro, Body Paragraphs, Conclusion).
- **Word Count:** Write at least 150 words for Task 1 and 250 for Task 2.
4. Speaking Tips
- **Be Natural:** Don't memorize answers. Speak fluently and naturally.
- **Elaborate:** Avoid one-word answers. Explain "Why".
